I am from Kuching. In the past, Sarawakians relied heavily on MAS to link us to Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. Now, with AirAsia, everything is so different. Whole family can afford to travel to Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah. When I was a student in Kuala Lumpur about 15 years ago, a return air ticket by MAS used to be over RM300 (discounted using Group fare or GV3).

But now you can fly from Kuching to Kuala Lumpur (return) for less than that. And that was a discounted fare and about 15 years ago!! Congratulations AirAsia. But one thing I hope AirAsia will do is to have a direct flight from Kuching to Bangkok. That will make my day!!
