Not literally, Air Asia does not include sky diving as part of flight services.

Just JUMP, as in just go, just charge your credit card and just go, of course, please check your passport validity, oh for god’s sake , do please.

Somewhere in your passport states , 6 months validity for you to cross your borders, all right, no whining at the airport please.

KRABI – This is the place where James Bond movie , “Tomorrow Never Dies” was filmed back in 1997 ,with stunning Pierce Brosnan (oh my …oh my!!) and Teri Hatcher (lucky her …) as Mr Bond and his … co-star.

The said island for the filming is Khow-Ping-Khan Island, but now is better known as James Bond Island. Our speed boat passes the island as another speed boat chases after us.

We arrived and anchored at Kho Phi Phi Leh, or in short, Phileh Bay .
This is where Leonardo DiCaprio made his legendary dive into the clear cool waters in the film “The Beach”, in year 2000. The movie was about an American backpacker harrowing experience during his holiday in Southeast Asia.

In this movie, he came across a secret community on one of the islands, some tragedy happened but of course , he survived.

Our experience was milder. We snorkelled.
Among the shoal of canary green fishes that suspiciously looked like piranhas, just that they didn’t bite.

The current was quite strong, and I wasn’t feeling too energetic, after 2 nights of hardly any sleep (another story this one), most of the time, i just hang on to the boat’s ladder and let the fishes nibble bread crumbs around me. Some of them venture out in their life savers and let the current flow them away, only to be towed back by the speed boat co-driver a.k.a lifeguard.

We snorkelled at 3 different waters , banked ourselves at Maya Beach ….where Leonardo DiCaprio killed a little shark, we had lunch at Phi Phi Don island, sunbathed at Bamboo Island and back safely to the shores of Aonang Town by evening.

Night time spent strolling and just popping into any food outlet that turned your saliva tap on.
Thailand food – mango spicy salad, tom yum in coconut milk, mixed vege with fish sauce, chicken sauteed with cashew nuts …

Sun dresses, bermudas, beach wears, slippers, shoes, beach party wears are all offered along the street by the beach. There’s not a need to think hard of what to pack to go Krabi.

On the 3rd day, I decided to join the Krabi jungle trip, because I can’t remember the last time I took a ride on an elephant , or if ever i had one.

It was a short ride, entering thru the rubber plantation , into the jungle. Nothing thrilling like a rollercoaster, but cant help worrying that the seats might fall off on either side.
The elephants didnt make a single sound during the ride, at times just stopping to munch on their favourite shoots and leaves .

Jungle package took us dipping into natural jungle fresh water pool , open air wooden hut lunch and later natural spa in the jungle hotspring.

That’s it.
Enjoyable, fun of fun activities ,relax atmosphere and good food.
Like i say, if you are feeling happy and energetic …but not to the point of sky diving extremeties, if you have that film star nostalgia in you,
and if you feel you just need to go, Go Krabi!!!

I am always running about, making sure EVERYBODY gets into their flight (terms and conditions applied) and into the RIGHT aircraft.
I love my job because I have a very BIG space to run about and I get to give a thumbs up to the pilots and engineers. I'm in the Ground Operations - Customer Services.

Besides running, I love the usual stuff - food, laughter, snoozing, diamonds, perfume, sports car .......... whatever you can think of.

Will be sharing with you as I go thru day by day here in AirAsia.
