AirAsia Team Malaysia - Elly and Fahmi come to Red Fort!
Yesterday we were lucky to have AirAsia Team Malaysia visit the AirAsia staff at LCCT (commonly known to us as Red Fort)
After a tour of our office facilities, our staff were invited to meet the riders, take photos with them, and there were signed posters on offer.
Obviously still on a high from the last weekends success, they were very happy to meet our staff, all of whome were excited to meet the boys that did airasia proud. I for one can't believe how young they are...and the speed around the track...so fast!
It was great for us to be able to share in the success (and pose next to the awesome bike!!)
Another good day in the office...

Good bye Bromo, HELLO soul city!
There are so many things that I love about Jogja - one of the oldest cities in Indonesia. From batik arts/craft at the bustling Malioboro Street, the yummilicious street food, the street performers, the Kraton (Sultan's Palace), the arts and culture i.e. theater, gamelan music, batik, wayang kulit (shadow puppetry) to the friendly and helpful locals!

Falling in love.......with Chiang Mai
Yes! That was the effect that Chiang Mai had on me. Being a family member of AirAsia, one of the advantages is to fly more often and visiting places that we never even dreamt of visiting earlier. So,I grabbed this opportunity and my first destination Chiang Mai, about 700km northwest of Bangkok, Thailand.
I arrived there at about 1130hrs on 1st Jan 2009. It was a great start to a new year. My Thai friends say that it is cold there in the Winter (Dec - Feb) , which made me decided to go in January, to personally experience the temperature. However, I guess that I was 'over excited' as it wasn't as cold as I expected and imagined. The weather and temperature was just nice to walk around in our short sleeve t-shirts , but not to the extend of needing a thick sweater and scarfs ;-)

A Special Visit
We choose Rumah Amal Cheshire in Selayang for these visits because the community is small (we could easily mingle with everybody there!) and it has a good mixture of all race and religion. It truly represents the communities in Malaysia.
Before heading there, the Trainees will be briefed on a little bit of 'Rules & Regulations' during the visit. Words that should and shouldn't be used, things that they shouldn't do, etc. However, the most important thing is everybody is advised to have LOTS of FUN!
Last Wednesday, was our 4th visit there. We could see the residents smiled widely upon our arrival. Even though they have not met this batch of Flight Attendants, for them, that's not an issue. Its the RED T-shirt that matters. The residents have accepted us as part of their family members. They always look forward to our visit because for some of them, we are the only 'family' members who regularly visit them.
And it broke our hearts to see their sad faces when we had to say goodbye at the end of the visit.
Look at them smiling in the pics below:
