That warm fuzzy feeling
At 2:45pm the plane touched down LCCT. After I got off the plane, the weather suddenly changed. I heard thunder storm while I was collecting my baggage. I started to worry for my Singapore friends as they should arrive 5 minutes later.
I collected my bags and went to the departure hall which was just next to the arrival hall. However, the check-in counter was about to close. I was very worried and I called my friends. They were caught in the thunder storm. Though their plane had arrived but they were not allowed to get off due to safety reason. I waited for another 30 minutes. The check-in counter has been closed. So I went to the service counter No. 58.
When I got there, there are some other passengers queuing up for help. I was scared that my friends and I would miss the flight to Banda Aceh, so I shouted loudly, 'Excuse me, I have an urgent situation here. Is the flight to Banda Aceh departed already?' Then a kind gentlemen immediately checked and he asked me to wait patiently.
It was by luck that the flight to Banda Aceh was also delayed due to bad weather. This kind gentlemen politely asked for my passport and help me to check in. After I told him I still got friends struck in the plane, he asked for their names and he promise to help as long as the gate is not closed. I was so thankful for his kind, helpful & friendly attitude.
Finally my friends showed up after an hour and we all checked in successfully. We really appreciate the help and friendliness of this gentlemen. What's more? He gave us an unforgettable beginning of our journey!
Once again we thank for help of this gentlemen. His name is NORMI SHAHRIL.
We will take AirAsia flight in future again.

Flight back home! Farewell and goodbye?
It was a very full flight that day. Yet the calm and very friendly staff took it head on, no problem. I hope I didn't trouble the stewardess Tan Pei Pei (I hope I got her name right) and the only steward on that flight that day by ordering a whole lot of food that flight! Between me and my friends, we had Roti Canai, 2 Onion Chicken Cup Noodles, Chicken Rice and New York Chicken. I believe in the price, even though it might pinch my pockets sometimes, you can't deny the food on board is absolutely mouth-watering!
I truly enjoy flying AirAsia. But I have a feeling that would be one of the last time because my dad now works for MAS, thus I has somehow I upgraded. But I'll miss the bustling LCC Terminal, the staff in vivacious red, the ever-smiling flight stewards and stewarders and just being a flyer of Air Asia.
Viva La AirAsia! :)

A peek into my life for a day...
Firstly, let me explain that all pilot licence holders are bound by regulations not to fly when affected by fatigue. As a professional pilot licence holder, we do have the privilege of calling in sick when we are really not fit to fly. In training school, we are taught Human Performance and Limitations, which is in essence a crash course for a Medical Degree!

As an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holder, the airline is responsible for guidelines known as Flight Time Limitation (FTL) scheme for its crewmembers to avoid fatigue and thus ensuring crew are well rested prior to each flight duty. As a guide, the Civil Aviation Publication (CAP) 371 issued by the Civil Aviation Authority of the United Kingdom is the document most airlines adhere to. The CAP 371 was published after much study was made with regards to fatigue in flight crew. It provides a set of work pattern for flight crews and flight attendants designed to prevent the onset of fatigue. From the CAP 371, airlines then work out a set of working patterns.
Factors affecting our working hours include the number of sectors (flights) we do that particular day, as well as the reporting time of that particular day. From there, there is a something called ‘earned rest’ whereby the crewmembers must be given this rest period before the onset of the next duty period. Confused yet?

Airport Tax
I used to fly with AirAsia from Johor Bharu but I don’t understand why Senai airport tax is higher than LCCT airport tax for flying to the same destination (either domestic or international flight). I also like to find out if we have to pay higher airport tax for the further routes from the same airport. And why do some countries impose higher airport tax while some airports are tax free?

6 Flights, 5 Cities, 3 Countries, 1 Holiday Trip
5 October 2008 (1st flight), from Jakarta we flew to Batam, and then using ferry to Singapore…
We were staying for 2 nights in Singapore and had a great fun there…. We brought our children to Sentosa Island, playing Luge and Skyride, and the most excited things were watching “The Song of the Sea”. It was a great performance and the lasser fountain was cool….. Our children liked it very much. (read more...)
