My AirAsia Love Affair..
I was about to step down from the plane for the inaugural flight of Airasia AK0032 to Clark, Philippines when I and a few from my group of 14 persons were greeted with a warm smile. It was the month of April 2005, and i was fortunate to be one of the 160+ passengers to take the first flight there. I was fortunate as well to have attended a press conference with the then Mr Tony Fernandes at the helm, answering confidently to questions thrown at him. Little did i expect that this was only the beginning of my monthly trips to Clarkfield eversince.
"Missed any flights before?", a bespectacle guy seated next to me asked. "Nope!" I replied. This guy was one of the many people from all walks of life i've sat beside with, chat with and shared information with during my flights to and from Clarkfield over the years. Chatting up with them was one of the ways to stop myself from looking at my watch all the time.....3hrs and 55mins to be exact (sometimes less). Business meetings, golfing, reunion, employment, or just plain travelling....it was all the normal conversation. However, this guy whom i sat with recently did catch my attention and also bring myself to change my perception about the airline industries and what it can do to people like him. (read more...)

Rescue Me!
My alternative is AirAsia. There is a flight at 8.50 pm that night and I waited earnestly for the sales office at Labuan Airport to be opened only to find out that it will not be opened. I did lose my appetite to break my fast after missing the flight and thinking I might be stranded here in Labuan for another day. I found out that if I upgrade my Economy class ticket on that other airline to Business Class I will have to pay RM 430 inclusive of non appearance fee. Then only I thought of checking with AirAsia first. I might get a much cheaper fare. (read more...)

6 Flights, 5 Cities, 3 Countries, 1 Holiday Trip
5 October 2008 (1st flight), from Jakarta we flew to Batam, and then using ferry to Singapore…
We were staying for 2 nights in Singapore and had a great fun there…. We brought our children to Sentosa Island, playing Luge and Skyride, and the most excited things were watching “The Song of the Sea”. It was a great performance and the lasser fountain was cool….. Our children liked it very much. (read more...)

Kuala Lumpur's hidden gem
It was raining so we took the monorail, and then walked a few blocks to the Kraft Komplex. Situated down the back is a batik/silk painting workshop and for RM20 each we created our own silk batik works of art! It was an incredible time, the children absolutely loved it (their ages ranged from 7yrs to 15yrs), the adults found it very therapeutic and best of all - it didnt cost a fortune, in fact very good value for money as we were there for nearly 3 hours!!!!
Our only problem is that we only had 2 days in Kuala Lumpur but we will be definitely re-visiting the Kraft Komplex on our next visit there...it is now on the MUST DO list, and you dont need to have kids to enjoy this!

Nostalgia Bali
