We've been thinking, we've been receiving entries from so many of you on your experiences flying with AirAsia. It is about time that we reward all of you for being with us & supporting us. You made us into who we are today.
So now, we have a question for you: Have You Flown AirAsia? (Let's call it HUFA from now)
(Okay, brace yourself now, we're about to announce something)
Yes, that's the question: Have You Flown AirAsia? (HUFA? Have you HUFA-ed? Will you be HUFA-ing soon? Yeah, try to get the awkwardness of that word out.. just chant, HUFA, HUFA, HUFA, HUFA)
And all you gotta do is answer that question by telling us here, in this blog, of your best experience flying with AirAsia! Ask yourself, Have You Flown AirAsia? If you have, we're sure you've got a story to share :)
There will be one winner each week, who will be off to a mystery destination with compliments from AirAsia :D
We hear you asking, so what exactly do you need to do?
1. Share with us your best experience with AirAsia, here in this blog. Log in with the same ID & password as your www.airasia.com account. Or, if you're new to us, all u gotta do is register here if you do not have an account.
2. The contest runs for 4 weeks, and there will be a weekly winner announced every week. The winner will be whisked off to a mystery destination, to be revealed later :)
Yeah, basically, that's it :) And nope, no word limit.

1. The “HUFA” contest [“Contest”] is organised by AirAsia Berhad [“Organiser”]. The Contest will be for 4 weeks commencing from [“Contest Period”]: 10:00 (GMT +8) 23 November 2009 and end 23:59 (GMT +8) on 21 December 2009.
During the Contest Period, one (1) winner will be picked at the end of each week. The will be four (4) winners to this Contest and each of them will receive the following prize:-
PRIZE
• ONE (1) return flight ticket to a destination to be determined by AirAsia Berhad.
2. The Contest is open to all members of the AirAsia blog except for the following [“Participant”]:
a. Permanent and/or temporary staff or employees of AirAsia Berhad, P.T. Indonesia AirAsia, Thai AirAsia Co., Ltd., AirAsia X Sdn. Bhd. and Go Holiday Sdn. Bhd and its immediate family members;

a. All participants need to be a registered member of the AirAsia blog.

b. Participants need to submit a blog post describing their best AirAsia experience and end it with the sentence “Have you flown AirAsia?”
c. Winners will be selected based on the relevance and creativity of the answers posted & will be contacted via email. Answers can also be submitted via video clip posts.
5. Only entries in English, Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia and Chinese will be accepted.
6. All entries must be submitted and received by 23:59 (GMT +8) on 29 November 2009, 6 December 2009, 13 December 2009 and 20 December 2009.
7. Only Participants that fulfill the Contest Mechanism stated above shall be eligible to win the prize. Incomplete entries and/or participants that fail to fulfill the contest mechanism will automatically be disqualified from the Contest without notice.
8. The winners will be selected based on the most relevant and creative answer by a panel of judges appointed by the Organiser.
9. Selected winner will be contacted, at any time deemed appropriate by the Organiser, via email.
10. The Organiser (including it respective employees, staff and agents) shall not be liable for any loss (including loss of opportunity and consequential loss arising therewith) and/or any damage suffered by any winner in connection with the Contest.
11. The prize is excludes airport taxes, convenience fees, insurance coverage, baggage, meals, advance seat request and transfers. It is not exchangeable and/or transferable. Failure to accept prize by winner when required to do so shall constitute a rejection by such winner and the Organiser reserves it rights to award the prize to another winner.
12. The winner is bound by the terms and conditions that come with the prize. The acceptance of prize indicates the acknowledgment and agreement of such terms and conditions.
13. The Organiser reserves its sole right and discretion to delete, remove, not consider or reject video with content that is deemed by it to be improper or offensive in whatever nature.
14. The Organiser reserves its rights to publish or display materials or information, including but not limited to the names, photographs and videos of all participants for marketing, advertising and publicity purposes in any manner it deems appropriate. The Organiser further reserves its right to use any personal data of participants in any manner and/or for any purpose it deems fit and participant is deemed to consent to such use with no monetary payment.
15. The Organiser reserves its right to cancel, terminate or suspend the Contest with or without any prior notice and reason. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by the Organiser shall not entitle the participant to any claim or compensation against the Organiser for any and all losses or damages suffered or incurred as a direct or indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
16. The terms and conditions herein shall prevail over any inconsistent terms, conditions, provisions or representations contained in any other promotional or advertising materials for the Contest. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict, ambiguity or discrepancy between the English version and the Bahasa Malaysia version of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail at all times.
17. The Organiser reserves its right to vary, delete or add to any of these Terms and Conditions and/or substitute or replace the gifts from time to time without any prior notice.
18. By participating in the Contest, it is deemed that the participant agrees to be bound by the terms and subject to the conditions herein set out upon submission of entry. The decisions of the Organiser in relation to every aspect of the Contest including but not limited to the type of prize and winner shall be deemed final and conclusive under any circumstance and no complaint from any participants will be entertained.
19. The decision of judges appointed by the Organiser are final, conclusive and binding and no further appeal, enquiry and/or correspondence will be entertained.
20. Winners will have to bear visa application charges and any additional cost of preparing necessary document for travel.
21. AirAsia will not be responsible for visa application purposes that are not approved.

You know what? I've never experience a single delay or re-time on all my flights with Air Asia, call me lucky or what?
I've already flew with AirAsia to Singapore and Denpasar, Bali. And also, in March 2010, I will fly again with AirAsia to Kualalumpur and Bangkok, can't hardly wait for it...
Oh yeah, I have short story about my last flight with AirAsia to Denpasar Bali. I just got back a week ago, and it was a great holiday. For me, the most important from a flight is that the passanger could arrive in their destination with safety, comfortable, and also, pay only what they should pay. If the passanger wants to buy a meal, he/she should buy it, but if not, it's just up to the passanger. That way, my holiday to Bali with AirAsia were unforgettable. From the first time we wait, the plane arrive exactly with the schedule. And also, the moment we entered the plane, the flight attendant were so gratefully welcoming us. And while in the air, the flight were so comfort, we could fly away without worries on safety. And after we arrive, I just thinked, if only AirAsia have more flight to all the countries in the world, I could go around the world with it!!! So, with AirAsia, everyone could fly without any worries of the safety, the flight schedule, and also 'bout the money !! Could you imagine ? So guys, Have you flown AirAsia ?
I took Air Asia again to recover from my 'out of love' situation to another destination to heal myself.
After that, I started to build a passion of travelling to discover new places, people and culture. The travelling has enabled me to discover more about myself more than I could ever imagined!
AirAsia has provided that link to enable me to do all that with their numerous growing routes, fabulous fares, cheery & hip cabin crews and institutive communication via the new medias such as facebook and blogs.
For a life changing discovery, have you flown AirAsia?

This is my depressing experience.
I am from Sri Lanka and was scheduled to fly from Colombo via KL to Bangkok on Nov 22.
I have acquired Thai visa.
Malaysian High Commission advised me of not requiring Malaysian visa since I am transiting in less than 72 hours. (Gave a written document stating this).
However, 2 days before I travel, a new visa rule has come to effect requiring all Sri Lankans to have a visa and all the air lines including Air Asia have been notified so that their passengers could be notified. (Malaysian High Commission in Sri Lanka confirmed that they informed all the air lines including Air Asia)
Air Asia never notified me of this!
On 22nd, when we arrived at the Colombo air port to catch our Air Asia flight, we were not allowed to check in, citing this new rule that Air Asia never informed of us! This happened to a few other passengers while we were there!!
We had to cancel all hotel and tour bookings incurring further a financial loss.
I have sent 5 emails asking them to give us replacement flights next week but all emails unanswered. Called their call centre but kept on hold indefinitely. To date, Air Asia has not refunded our money either.
All in all, very irresponsible behavior from Air Asia.
I was flying to Phnom Penh, Cambodia last year december for my community service trip. The safe and secure plane trip get us ready to reach our hands to the needy in Cambodia. Despite the early morning flight, we were warmly welcome onboard the plane by the friendly crews that made us feel like home. We had a good rest on the plane before moving straight from the airport to the 2 hours-away bus trip to Baray for our 10-days community service.
During our stay at Baray, we live with on a traditional old attap house with stilts and sleep on thin mattress in which we can feel the gaps between the hard wooden floor. we had to go through the thick mosquito netting to access to our 'beds'. The lighting and fan is powered up by using the crocodile clips to clip on the postive and negative channel of the car battery. The electric supply of the place will only be up until 9pm. Then, the whole place will be in complete darkness. Torchlights will be our only light source back to our room from the washing area. The water to wash our clothes had to be pumped from the well. No warm water or shower head is used for our leisure bathing. A simple scoop and pail was using to contain the well water. That was the life of well-off people.
The poor don't even had enough clothes for themselves. Food is included in the list. They do not have proper wardrobe to do their clothes, proper kitchen to cook their food and even a bathroom to enjoy their bathe. Not even lighting for the night activities for reading or dinner time. All they had is a broken roof over their head and a hard dirty wooden floor that might crash down the stilts to the muddy ground. Some fortunte ones might have a tattered blanket, a flat pillow and even a oversized/undersized slippers. With the neccessities, they are still as happy as us living day after day. Everyone respect each other and built rapport and trust with one another.
Our team went in to educate the kids on basic hygiene and english, repair their roofs, give our food rations and hygiene kits, built well pavements and give the teens a chance to know more about Singapore.
It's really a rare experience I had with my 1st visit to Cambodia. It's rather a old and mushy phrase. Thanks to Airasia for this wonderful experience!!
Ya. Dua kali. Dan terbang dengan AirAsia mengubah cara kami untuk liburan. Liburan dengan AirAsia adalah liburan yang hemat, mengasyikkan, dan menawarkan berbagai destinasi menarik untuk mewujudkan semua petualangan yang kami impikan.
Bali 2008
Liburan pertama keluarga kami adalah ke Bali pada awal 2008. Kami adalah pasangan baru. Saya menikah dengan istri saya, Yani, pada 2005. Pada 2006 kami dikaruniai putri kecil yang cantik bernama Sofia. Menjadi orangtua sungguh pengalaman yang menyenangkan, tapi juga serba repot. Dan mencari waktu luang untuk santai sungguh nyaris tidak ada. Pada pertengahan 2007, kami baru sadar bahwa kami perlu liburan. Wah, alangkah menyenangkan seandainya bisa mengajak putri kecil kami yang saat sudah hampir dua tahun.
Dan alangkah beruntungnya kami, pada November 2007 AirAsia baru menggelar promosi kursi gratis dan murah. Istriku dan aku sepakat kami harus mencoba berburu kursi promosi ini. INILAH SAAT YANG TEPAT untuk liburan kami, juga LIBURAN PERTAMA BAGI SOFIA.
Malam harinya, tepat pada pukul 12:00 dini hari, kami segera meluncur ke website AirAsia dan mencoba mencari beberapa flight dan kemungkinan hari yang kosong sesuai dengan jadwal liburan kami. Kebetulan istri saya juga kuliah, jadi kami harus mencocokkan liburan ini dengan jadwal kuliahnya. Pada Rabu, 14 November 2007 itu, akhirnya kami mendapat tiket ke Bali, pergi-pulang, untuk bertiga. Total yang kami bayar untuk berdua (karena Sofia masih kurang dari 2 tahun) adalah Rp1,203,500. Hemat bukan?
Liburan kami sangat menyenangkan. Apalagi kami merencanakan semua sendiri, ala backpacker. Mulai dari hotel, sewa kendaraan dan sopir, juga penentuan rencana tempat wisata. Di Bali kami dapat berkunjunga ke Kuta, Tanah Lot, Ubud, melihat tarian Barong, Kecak di Uluwatu dan juga menikmati pantai indah di Bali. Total pengeluaran liburan kami sekitar Rp5 juta, sudah termasuk tiket AirAsia, hotel, akomodasi selama liburan, makan di restoran, dan juga membeli oleh-oleh.
Backpacking Southeast Asia 2009
Dan waktu berputar cepat ke 2009. Rencana awal dimulai pada pertengahan 2008 saat AirAsia mengadakan promosi tiket gratis. Seketika itu saya langsung berunding dengan istri, tampaknya ini saat yang tepat untuk mencoba backpacking ke Asia Tenggara. Ya, kami selalu punya rencana untuk backpacking, mungkin ingin keliling dunia. Tapi sebagai penjajakan, Asia Tenggara mungkin cukup untuk latihan. Jadi, seandainya dapat tiket yang terjangkau dan murah, hal itu tentu akan menghemat jauh pengeluaran kami.
Tepat malam itu pula, kakak ipar saya dan suaminya, tertarik ikut pula untuk mencoba backpacking. Wow, rencana yang asyik, jalan-jalan berempat tentu asyik karena bisa saling membantu, juga tidak terlalu repot seandainya naik taksi atau kendaraan umum. Oh ya, karena ini perjalanan internasional dan mungkin berat medannya, kami berencana tidak mengajak serta Sofia. Sofia rencananya akan dititipkan di rumah neneknya.
Oh ya, sebagi info, rencana perjalanan kami adalah Singapura, Malaysia, dan Thailand. Kami sudah sering membaca pengalaman jalan-jalan ke Singapura dan Malaysia, tapi sangat jarang membaca perjalanan ke Thailand. Selain itu, kami ingin pula melakukan perjalanan via darat. Selain menghemat biaya, tentu akan sangat menyenangkan naik bus atau kereta lintas negara. Andai-andai aja sebagai persiapan kami untuk mewujudkan mimpi backpacker lintas benua dengan Trans Siberia dari China ke Rusia lalu ke Eropa nanti. Hehehehe…
Dan terima kasih lagi pada AirAsia, pada 24 Agustus 2008 dini hari itu, kami adalah salah satu orang yang berhasil mendapatkan tiket kursi gratis AirAsia. Untuk berangkat, kami memutuskan lewat jalur Jakarta - Batam, booking number G24YEC, total pengeluaran 942,000 untuk EMPAT ORANG. Sementara untuk kembali, kami mendapatkan tiket Bangkok - Jakarta, booking number GI3IDC, total pengeluaran 8,740 Baht atau kira-kira Rp 2,400,000 (dalam kurs saat itu), semua untuk empat orang. Jadi total pengeluaran untuk tiket AirAsia adalah Rp3,342,000.
Singkat kata, akhirnya kami berhasil mewujudkan mimpi kami berbackpacker ria. Sekali lagi, semua rencana kami buat sendiri, dari hostel, transportasi, dan akomodasinya.
Di Singapura, kami sempat mengunjungi Merlion Statue di Marina Bay, ke Bugis market, Arab Street dan Kampung Glam, National Botanical Garden, Orchard Road, dan area Chinatown. Di Malaysia kami sempat mengunjungi Pteronas Tower, Merdeka Square, dan Pasar Seni. Kunjungan ke negeri ini memang singkat selain karena insiden kurang nyamannya penginapan, kami juga memutuskan mempercepat ke Thailand, dengan harapan agar lebih nyaman dan santai. Di Thailand kami sempat berkunjung ke Krabi, tour Phi Phi Island dan pulau-pulau sekitarnya, juga makan Tom Yam Gung asli yang begitu enak dan hangat (apalagi setelah snorkeling). Tujuan akhir kami di Thailand adalah Bangkok untuk melihat ibukota Thailand yang riuh dan bersahabat. Di Bangkok kami menyempatkan berkunjung dan melihat wat-wat yang rupawan sejarahnya, juga berkunjung ke sungai Chai Phraya (meski tidak jadi naik karena waktu terlalu mepet), dan Grand Palace.
Setelah dihitung-hitung, total biaya untuk berempat dalam seluruh rangkaian backpacking 10 hari kami adalah Rp 9,500,000. Itu semua termasuk tiket AirAsia, hostel di tiga negara selama 7 malam, tiket naik kereta lintas negara dari Singapura ke Kuala Lumpur, tiket bus lintas negara dari terminal Putrajaya di Kuala Lumpur ke Hat Yai, Thailand (bus yang megah dan besar dengan fasilitas video on seat, gilaaa!), juga tiket bus malam dari Krabi ke Bangkok, dan termasuk tur Phi Phi Island. Murah nggak sih biaya segitu?
Dari terminal Bangkok yang megah dan luas, akhirnya kami menemukan terminal penerbangan AirAsia ke Jakarta pada 23 Juli 2009 itu. Sungguh perjalanan yang menyenangkan. AirAsia terbang tepat waktu, proses imigrasi juga lancar dan cepat, dan tepat pada 24 Juli 2009 pukul 01:00 dini hari, kami kembali menjejakkan kaki di tanah Jakarta. Perjalanan yang aman, nyaman, tepat waktu, dan begitu menyenangkan.
Terima kasih AirAsia telah mewujudkan mimpi liburan kami mengelilingi dunia. Kami ingin mewujudkan mimpi-mimpi backpacking kami selanjutnya, termasuk (bila memungkinkan) backpacking umrah, ke Jepang, dan juga lintas benu melalui Trans Siberia. Dengan jalur-jalur baru AirAsia ke Dubai, India, dan China, hal ini tentu akan memudahkan mimpi kita untuk lebih dekat dalam menjalah dunia secara efisien, terjangkau, aman, dan nyaman.

The airplane landed safely on Ho Chih Minh land. Carry along with my bag; I left the cabin of the plane while greeted warmly by the air hostess. This is my first backpack trip ever in my whole life. Lonely, but I am not afraid. Backpacking is my dream since I am young. My brother had gone to India for 3 times, thanks for AirAsia budget air ticket. I always envied him for his courage, but now, it is my turn. My dream finally came true! I planned for this trip since 5 months ago, when I was informed by my friend that AirAsia was having promotion. One way ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chih Minh City (Vietnam) with another one way ticket from Vientian (Laos) to Kuala Lumpur were less than RM200 in total, with tax and luggage inclusive. I knew that it was a golden chance that I could not resist!

I was informed by AirAsia at my guesthouse at Lang Prabang (Laos) that my return flight to Kuala Lumpur was delayed due to unforeseen circumstances. 8 days ago, my hand-phone was stolen when I was wandering at the busy street at Hanoi. As back-up, I gave the contact number of the guesthouse that I will stay in Laos to AirAsia so that I am contactable. AirAsia did so well in trying to reach their customers to convey the message of flight delayed. Well done!

Looking out at the astonishing scenery from the plane, the North-South highway appears vividly. The airplane that I am taking is loitering to wait for the signal to land on Kuala Lumpur LCCT. The weather is fantastic today, as contrast to the weather at Vang Vieng, (Laos). It was raining non-stop for 3 days at Vang Vieng. The small little town was flooded. As a result, I was trapped for a few days. My mood worsens when I was informed that many of the bus trip form Vang Vieng to Vientian were cancelled due to landslide. The earliest bus available was today morning while my flight is at afternoon! I nearly missed the return flight. When I was greeted warmly by AirAsia when I reached the check in counter, I was so relieved. Thank God! Not forgetting to have my last can of Lao Beer and bought a Lonely Planet- Thailand to plane for my next trip, before I boarded the plane.
The plane landed safely at Kuala Lumpur LCCT. The air and the heat were so familiar for me when I walk out from the cabin. Yes, I am back to my home country, Malaysia!
Thank you AirAsia for supplying fantastic flight services with such low cost. Because of AirAsia, my dream came true; because of AirAsia, everybody can fly! HUFA? Definitely yes!
Have you flown AirAsia?
Well Ive flown many airlines over the years and have seen some remarkable changes in that time too, So when Air Asia arrived in my hometown of Perth Western Australia I decided to give it a go-mate- as we say here. What really surprised me the most was the cleanliness and freshness of the cabin- a very nice lasting impression. Yes that was paramount, I choose to fly x-class all the time because of the superb comfort and elegance it displays, Air Asia is now my choice in flying northwards and beyond from Australia.
I have no hesitation but to recommend it to my friends and associates as the quality airliner that achieves:)

We got our chance in September when we flew from Perth to Bali.
Very comfortable, on time both ways, lovely crew, easy to contact should we have enquiries, duty free shopping and nice food.
To say we were impressed is an understatement.
We look forward to flying them again in March 2010 and I have recommended 5 lot's of friends that have booked to fly with them also.
Keep up the good work Air asia and kick the expensive airlines butts, they have had control for too long.
It now means we can holiday more often.....and now visit places that we have not been before.
Choice is what the passengers need and you have provided it.

I've been flying AirAsia for a long time since AirAsia opened her doors to Indonesia. But last time, there were direct flights from Batam to Jakarta, I recently found out that direct flights from Btm to Jkt have been discontinued, so I flew to Jkt from Singapore instead (rather than having to fly other airlines).
ONE thing you'll never guess is that flying AirAsia from Singapore to Jakarta (International Flight with definitely higher standards of service from Singapore Changi Airport), is that the cost is CHEAPER for a RETURN FLIGHT, as compared to flying from Batam to JKT!! I'm amazed, AirAsia, you never fail to amaze and surprise your customers.
Now back to my experience while HUFA: This is a very extra-ordinary experience, as it involves something spiritual...
I was seated in my seat next to the window. Suddenly, a small voice said, "Pergilah Toilet" (go to the toilet). I replied, "I don't need to". The voice said again,"Pergilah toilet", and I gave another excuse. The voice spoke 4 times, and finally, I gave in, and the people sitting beside me, all had to stand up to let me through..
I walked to the back of the aircraft, and waited, as both toilets were in use. Another fellow passenger sitting at the last seat started a conversation with me, and invited me to sit in the empty seat beside him.
Our conversation developed and I realised that he has the connections to help me with a problem that I'm having trouble with. We are in the process of discussion how to solve my problem.
Alhamdullilah! Thank you AirAsia, for if not for you, I might not have meet this person, who's a sign of hope for me!
I'll definitely fly AirAsia from now on!! Have you flown AirAsia?
It is true, the tag line "Everybody can fly". We already planning for next trip to Bandung and of course with AirAsia.
