We're on the Plane! Zoom...to Vietnam!
Once arrived at the LCCT Airport, the two little cats hang around here and there. Go here. Go there. Settle everything, we walk to the departure hall. Again this two little cats keep busying themself untill its time to depart. All the way walking to the plane, the boys was so excited seeing the big gigantic plane. They cant shut their eyes and keep saying, " oooo the plane is big. Bigggg"
I'm so overwhelming by this precious moment. Their happy feelings, you cant trade it with anything in the world. And I believe their mums feel that way too.
Inside the plane, of course the two little cats wants the window seating. All of us were a bit worry if they scared once the plane take off. We were wrong! They say..." wahh...best! No scared!" Then they start walking around. Walk to my seat. Walk to Tok Ma seat (their grandmother).
We safely landed at the Ho Chi Minh International Airport. We take a taxi to our hotel Saigon Pink 2. All the way, we can see the traffic was so hectic. Seriously crazy. They did not follow any lane. The truth is NO LANE! We check in at Saigon Pink 2 Hotel. The hotel is very convenient in terms of accessiblity to the very famous Ben Thant Market. Just 3 minutes walk and we were in the Ben Thant. For muslim tour, there are severals Halal muslim restaurant. The very, very, near to our hotel is the V.N Halal Restaurant. The food is good and you should not miss the Vietnam Coffee.
In Ho Chi Minh, we spent most of our time at Ben Thant, the Nite Market ( oh..not to mentioned that the Nite Market is just infront of the hotel). You can find loads of fruits and good qualities handmade item. We bought loads of souveniers. You can get t-shirt written Saigon at 2 dollars each.
We also take a famous tour to the Chu Chi Tunnel. This place is about 2 hours journey from Ho Chi Minh center. Half way, we dropped by at the Handicapped Handicraft Centre. Here, you will be surprised how the handicapped people are capable to. All the art works are very-very good. Thums Up to them.
Another very best moment is when all of us rendevous the city by trishaw. Hahaahah.....8 trishaw! Its cost us 20 dollar for 10 of us. Again, the two boys was so happy and excited as it was the first time they ride a trishaw. We see the famous Notredamme, the Post Office, lay our bumps for a while at the Mekong River just to snap a picture.
This are some shots while we are in Ho Chi Minh.
Sadly, we have to leave Ho Chi Minh. The three super duper days for us. Of course for the two little boys. They are jumping, running and sliding at the Ho Chi Minh Airport. Too bad our flight back to KL is at night. So the boys keep wondering why they cant see the plane clearly. So funny! Loads of thanks to AirAsia that make their dreams come true and they are so happy being in the AirAsia Flight.

Checking back with Capt. Lim
It has been awhile since I visited the blog due to my work commitments but I am very sure most of you have been enjoying the company of JFK and Captain Lim. Great writers, great pilots (I am sure JFK will turn out to be) and great charm the guys have! Way to go guys!
Well, I would like to touch on the following travel tips, if you guys have any more do share with all so that we can make our travels with AirAsia better and also for us to improve further!
1. I book my meals before flying. Be mindful the limit is 48 hours before your departure. A few reasons:
a. It is cheaper
b. I am assured of a meal in case the flight is full and all meals run out. I know some people who booked didn’t manage to get theirs, well, please write in. We are not perfect. We need data to improve our delivery to all you guests out there
c. I don’t have to scramble for my wallet in flight!
2. AirAsia offers point to point travel. Meaning, if you want to travel from Shenzen to Alor Setar, you will have to buy a ticket from Shenzen to Kuala Lumpur and then from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Setar. A lot of people fail to allow sufficient time for transit before the connecting flight (please allow a minimum of three hours as anything can happen from unexpected flight delays to missing bags etc!). At times however it is due to limited connecting flight choices (the above is a real example. I hope the passengers managed to get on their flights to Alor Setar). How do you go about it when you are limited by time? Check in online!
Do you know we have this facility? Go to our website, select Flight Info and then Self Check In for more info.
This will save you time (and you can do this 48 hours prior to your flights) – you wouldn’t need to queue up to check in for your next connecting flight. And helps a lot if you do not have check in luggage :)
Anymore from you people out there?
p.s. just for your viewing pleasures... attached are some photos during my recent trip to Stansted on the A340 :)
So, you wanna fly long haul? Go AirAsia X!
Best Regards,
Dom.

* Epiphanies :)
My mum asked me, 'Why Pulau Redang?' I told her that, there will be so much to experience in an island of white sandy beach. I planned a weekend family trip to Redang island, situated in Terengganu, Malaysia. It took us 45 minutes plane ride from LCC Terminal to Sultan Mahmud Airport. It was the 2 hour dizzy boat ride from Shahbandar jetty to Redang island, that I did not like.
HOWEVER,
A morning sunrise melted our heart...
Every meal made us drool...
A photo under the sea, indeed memorable...
Parents not being parents, made me laugh...
Expressing oneself, where nobody cared...
And, a thumbs up made this trip complete...
On our journey home, my turn to ask mum, 'So? Did you enjoy?'. She said 'Okay-lar', sheepishly, covering her grin.. *wink*

AirAsia leading me to home sweet home again
Since i got a better pay in Kuala Lumpur so i had no choice to stay in Kuala Lumpur to work. Previously i working with a well-known hotel and i use to go back home 4 times a year. Everytime going back it will only cost me about RM120 - RM280 for a return flight. It's really cheap and affordable for everyone.
Because of AirAsia, i can flying back to my home sweet home 4 times a year. I just wondering if without AirAsia, i might be going back 4 years once. hahahahaha...
Now my brother is studying in Johor and he is also flying back home once there is holiday in his Uni. Because of AirAsia too he can going back without facing any problem in financial even though he is still a student.
Thanks to AirAsia for bring us back to our Home Sweet Home. Now really Everyone Can Fly~
One thing i never ever think or dream of is i will be part of AirAsia big family. (: Now actually i am working in one of AirAsia's projects.
p/s: April 2009 once again AirAsia going to make my dreams come true. Home Sweet Home here i come!!!

Homesick season: Home is calling
This few days I really felt homesick especially during this CNY celebration. I can’t even concentrate in lectures and doing things well. I really wanted to celebrate together with my family in Sibu eagerly. Early in the morning, I on my laptop and started to access to the flight pages to check available cheap flight during the festival after my first opening of eyes. Yet, I failed to do so...
Haiz… feeling rather sad.I could only blame and regret for not booking the flight earlier and now it’s price already been rose so highly. The flight company have to take these festivals’ opportunities in order to earn more so the flight fare is so costly. It's so good if flight company could consider to give special offer for the undergraduates. The undergraduate like me from oversea (South China Sea), Sarawak which is currently studying in Penang is unaffordable to pay the costly flight during festival since many of the undergraduates just taking Ptptn or a tightly spendable scholarship yet can't have financial support from family since mostly not come from rich family.
Another thing, we noticed that whatever flights to Sibu always more expensive than to the other places and I just don’t know why it is so. It costs us 1000++ for a trip from Penang to my hometown for just a week time. Come on, the money definitely can be used maybe for almost one and a half months of life expenses as a student. I wonder there must be a lot of students like me. They must have been sobbing quietly and thinking of their family so much during the festival of being unable to go back. (read more...)
