From 1st of April till today..THANK YOU AIRASIA AND BLOGOSPHERE!
i having a very mixed feeling now as i feel as though i am at the point of life where every single steps i take and every single word i speak takes into the account in my future.. i am now only 24 hours away from my final stage for the Cadet Pilot Programme from AirAsia Berhad... well to me, its more than an interview.. Its a matter of life and dead (not literally) and the decision from the judging panel will affect my future for now..
Honestly, i have never planned for what to happen after I've successfully passed the 2nd stage interview, which was the psychomotor test last 2 months.. all i had in mind was that i might fail and there goes all the effort i've put in to just become the cadet pilot of AirAsia..
to some readers, you might not know on how much i've wanted to become a pilot... it has always been my dream to be able to be the man flying the plane.. i know very well that there are tonnes of kids or teenager out there who are better than myself, but i just want it very very very very badly.. I am having this mix feeling now la.. I have no idea what will happen tomorrow before, during and after the interview.. I have no idea how i will feel and how i will react to everything... All i want to do now is just to pray and to hope for the best so that i can perform my very best tomorrow.. I really hope that all my effort put in so far, so long, is at least enough to qualify me to become their cadet...
As I am typing this post, I'm listening to this song, and having this video playing which I've made earlier this year for the blogging competition.. Honestly, without this blogging competition, I won't be able to here.. It is the competition that gave me the 2nd chance to attend the interview after failing my interview at the first attempt last year.. My journey to be a cadet pilot for AirAsia might end tomorrow if i fail the interview... However, it will not be the end of my dream and I will never let myself stop in realising my dream.. AirAsia, if i am to fail in becoming your cadet pilot this year, do look forward in receiving more of my entries and application next year, and the following year till i manage to join your airline and to celebrate your success...

IMPOSSIBLE ? nothing.......
AIRASIA under the helm of the MAN has reached heights never scaled before and depths ever traced before , blasting away the IMPOSSIBLE and capturing the hearts of all , young and old.
To imagine , that young boy who once sat by his hometown river looking at that metal bird up high wishing if he could have his turn to fly in it and at that moment looking down the river to his parents , making ends meet by fishing in swamps to support the family . And he told himself , that metal bird is just a bird , it is nothing great to fly in it or fly one , hiding his dream , fronting the image of his old ones slogging it out in the river.............how would they fly when they can barely make a months food supply?
ITS A BOY'S DREAM AND IT REMAINED ONE ........
And that same boy , today made his dream come true ....... as he walked in the airport he once thought he would never touch foot....LCCT , the portal of many dreams , the A320s , the birds of steel that he admired were now in front of him and he glanced at his boarding pass and a drop of tear as he noted a number C15 , thats his seat on the big bird!
THAT BOY GOT HIS DREAM THIS TIME..........
AIRASIA has been built with PEOPLE in mind always , its a dreamcaster , bridging hearts and emotions and this is what makes her a company to be reckoned always......
The MAN has kept his word and resilience and HE has made that boy's dream come true.....
Thank you , MR Tony Fernandes...
And that boy has pledged his note and he told himself , the next he comes back , he is to be in a black tie , a briefcase , polished shoes , and on the big bird announcing ........
WELCOME ABOARD AIRASIA ,LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING.....
THANK YOU AIRASIA....
Sashi Sekaran
Yes , I want to be a pilot (its never too late with AirAsia)

A boy named Sebenaran
Well, take a good look at him. His name is Sebenaran. He is a survivor of the tsunami and was left an orphan from the tragedy. Sebenaran comes from Batam, Indonesia and lives in an orphanage. So what does Sebenaran have to do with the AirAsia story?
In fact, everything.
Sebenaran came by for a trip to our Academy at Sepang last week and he was here on a pathway of a dream. You see, since the age of seven, the only constant in his has been the fact that Sebenaran wants nothing more than to be a pilot. AirAsia was there to say, yes, like us, Sebenaran is here to tell his story, that nothing is impossible.
In this picture, seen with Sebenaran are his caretakers who made the trip from Singapore, Janet Tan Mui Hwa and Ivan Lee Yuan.
The group were down with us in Kuala Lumpur. Now, Sebenaran has never been on a plane, in fact never left Indonesia and in one day, he's been to two countries, been in two cockpits and who knows, is one step closer to living his dreams in the skies. The social media team was there to witness and maybe be a moment in his life and his dreams. This is his story.
Batch 90 was on hand at the academy to show Sebenaran some AirAsian 'hospitality'.
Sebenaran was invited to be with us here last week to have a go at most of our childhood's dream, to actually fly a plane. Upon arriving at the LCCT, he was ushered to our academy within a stone's throw away to see for himself what reaching for the skies meant. He was slightly dazed perhaps at the first flight in his life but nevertheless excited by the entire intrigue of being here and being exposed to an opportunity to live his dreams.
Sebenaran only knows a few words of English and a thread of aviation knowledge but he has never let this be an excuse for him not being able to be a pilot. He knows that financial sense is not on his side but he does not lack faith. He knows the road is long but here he is agianst all the odds, having a peek at his dreams. Standing by his side for that short glmpse at his ambition and his determination to make it a reality, we say that we are privileged to share this moment in him living his dreams.
Sebenaran before stepping into his 'dreams'. The simulator beckons.
All smiles with Gavin Andrews, the standby engineer before takeoff, we swear that Sebenaran was never nervous. In fact, he was all the while raring to go. Sebenaran took us on a ride through rain, thunderstorm, turbulence and at the end, bursting through the sunshine. Can anyone doubt that this kid will make it one day? :)
It was an experience to remember and we were glad to be the bystander in this experience. We remember Sebenaran saying and summarising it best, "Saya takut tinggi. Tapi lain kali saya nak terbang beratus-ratus nyawa dan saya tak boleh takut. Oleh itu, saya beritahu diri sendiri bahawa saya perlu berani." (I am afraid. I am afraid of heights. But if I am to fly the lives of hundreds of passengers, I can not be afraid. Because of that, I told myself that I have to be brave.) With this conviction, AirAsia says yes, we can get there together. Now, everyone can truly fly.
Social media team signing off with lots of love for Sebenaran and Batam.
Believe the unbelievable,
Dream the impossible,
Never take no for an answer.

Greatest Career
To me it's all hard work and though at times it sounds and yeah..might look glamorous ( no doubt it is!!), in heaps of ways, it is also physically challenging. Before getting the 'licence to fly', one must go through 3 months of intensive training which covers all the important aspects of flying such as Safety, Emergency and Procedures, First Aid, Inflight Services and also Cabin Familirizations. There will also be a series of exams to go on with and once graduated, supernumerary or obvesrvation flights will be assigned just to get you prepared for what actually this great career have to offer.
The primary and overriding responsibilities of a flight attendant is to ensure passengers' safety, which explains the high passing mark ( 90% ) on all exams. Might sound stressful but hey at 35, 000 feet above sea level, you have to accept the fact that any emergencies happened, the flight attendants will be the only one responsible to rescue any individuals under their care. In other words, the passengers' lives DEFINATELY lies in our hands.
Being a flight attendant at times, you have to sacrifice your personal life as well. How many times did i missed my loved ones' birthdays, weddings and so forth? Countless. How many times do i have to put on a genuine smile eventhough my mind is not really up to it? We were all trained to behave professionally even at the worst of times. Sometimes, you will be shouted and screamed at by the passengers as if everything wrong in this universe lies in your hands.. Sounds tough? But hey, put it this way.. nothing comes easy. If you really love and value your job, in time you will get through it. This is one of the best job in the world with the World's Best Low Cost Carrier 2009.. your hard work and dedication is definately paid off. Satisfaction guaranteed. Great, fun and caring working environment, I almost feel at home each time I am on duty!!! What else can i say? I am definately here to stay.
So..phheww..think you are up for the challenge? Come and join us and see for yourself. And it will be one of your life's greatest experience. See all the happy faces attached? Those smiles are real. Take my word for it.
