People have all sorts of fears. Some are afraid of being alone, afraid of water, heights, small spaces, sharp objects, being touched, and many many more.

Being afraid of flying is also one of the common ones. Some are so afraid of it that they would not even go near an aircraft. But some less-serious ones are only afraid in times of TURBULENCE [when the aircraft goes in bumpy conditions when flying through weather conditions].

I was flying to BKI (Kota Kinabalu) one afternoon, and there were three ladies seated at the first row of the starboard [right] side. And during take-off, my crew and I noticed that one of them were already gripping her friend's hand tightly.

Due to heavy rain over Kota Kinabalu International Airport, we were unable to even make an approach, not to mention to land the plane itself. After holding in the air for about an hour, the captain on my flight that day, Captain Lim Khoy Hing, finally announced that we were going to land, and informed us that it was going to be a bumpy ride in the process.

When the cabin was checked and ready, my crew and I took our seats. Then the bumps got slightly worse, but pretty much like a mild roller coaster ride. And the three ladies just started screaming!

The funny thing was, every time the three ladies in the front were screaming, two little kids seated at row 2 would echo with their childish laughter. The rest of us were trying very very hard to not laugh at the kids' innocence, and I meant we were trying VERY hard!

After a few more bumps, Captain Lim did a BEAUTIFUL landing despite the conditions, and he even got a well-deserved clap from the passengers after that successful landing!

Oh well, the big bonus of having an experienced and good captain on board! =D

Me and my wife travelled to Bali for the first time recently. This is not our first time flying AirAsia and we had lots of bad experiences with our prior AirAsia flights, mostly flight delays.

Our flight to Bali (AK900) scheduled to depart at 10.55am, I told my wife we would be lucky if we can takeoff by 11.30am. With our express boarding passes, we managed to board the plane by 10.05am. Being the 'kiasu' ones, we got the front row, of course! To our utmost surprise, the lovely stewardess announced 'arm and lock all door...' at 10.20am!!! We landed at Denpasar 28 minutes ahead of schedule! We wanted to applaud the crew when the lovely stewardess announce it over the p.a. system.

After enjoying our 'HOT' holidays in Bali, is time for us to fly back. AirAsia surprises yet another time, our flight AK901 arrived at LCCT 25 minutes ahead of schedule!

This is truly the most memorable AirAsia experience we ever had, perhaps, luck got something to do with it. However, looking at the statistic at AirAsia website 90% on time and our personal experiences, I must give credit to AirAsia for a job well done! Maybe they should also put another statistic for early departure!?

On a lighter note, when we boarded our plane from LCCT, a fly followed us in and stay onboard to annoy my wife for the whole 3 hours journey! My wife tried to 'get rid' of it but failed, I then turn to her and told her 'dear... now really... everyone can fly!'

I am into photography, and when I was asked to take more pics to accompany my blog entries, I was more than happy. However, if I were to walk around with a big DSLR in my uniform, one might think that I am not into my job (come on, photography is my hobby!!!).

These pics were taken with my only alternative (a lousy 2MP phone camera - on offline during cruising, of course!). At times like these....I MISS MY CAMERAS!
