Guys and girls, have you ever wondered where our aircraft come from? Hmm, you don't say. They all seem to pop out from somewhere about twice a month in AirAsia. As pretty as these aircraft are, the city that these beauties hail from is one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in France.

Jawdropping.

Toulouse is a fairly large city, with a little over a million inhabitants. It is the fourth largest city in France, with a rich history behind its creation as well as housing Europe's most advanced defence and space centers.

I had the privilege of undergoing some training there, and my first impression of the river that runs through it is this.

A ‘ferry flight’ is one when company pilots go to Toulouse/Sharjah to fly the aircraft home once it’s rolled out from the plant. It’s an experience akin to taking ‘a new car for a spin’. Recently, I had that rare opportunity with Capt. S.A. Tan ferrying 9M-AHG from Sharjah-Kuala Lumpur. Although Sharjah has its fair share of sights and sounds, it was a tad boring for us. So we attempted to ride a camel across the freezing desert while awaiting the aircraft to arrive from Toulouse! This post documents our brief journey and subsequent elevation as certified Airbus pilots cum camel jockeys.

First things first, the 'chain-of-command'. Despite Capt. Tan’s vast experience as a commander, we both decided that commanding a camel is more suited for one as obstinate as the camel itself. So he asked ME to be Captain while HE volunteered to be my FO atop the camel! Since I had no problems accepting an early promotion, we got down to business immediately. Well, referring to the title. I think AirAsia has aeroplanes with the funkiest livery ever seen in the horizon.

Even AirAsia's standard red/white livery is one of smartest looking livery. Not forgetting the Manchester United livery and Williams ATT F1 team livery. The Airbus A320 with the "Amazing" livery does look nice well with the faces of their stewardess on it.

The new livery celebrating AirAsia winning the Best Low Cost Carrier of the year does look good as well and not forgetting the new "Bank Rakyat" livery.

Well, long story cut short. All I want to say is AirAsia has the best looking planes ever. Keep up the momentum. We as passengers of AirAsia would like to see more planes with even more funky liveries.

This is the livery that I like best.

Some people like collecting stamps, some like to collect coins or stones but the whole objective of collecting stuff, I guess, is to amass a variety of items that is to become one’s pride and joy.

We collect stuff too, it’s a common sight on tables – well at least for the Web Team, they are. Table Souvenirs! Small items that we bring back to the office for one another after each to remind ourselves of our trips. Since AirAsia flies to 61 destinations… you can bet that there are plenty of items on our desk!

Er...no ladies, it's not what you think. First of all, I am not married yet. Secondly, I should have written 'AirAsia Has a New Baby' as the title of this post. But somehow, a lot of people, including myself have always considered these planes to be our babies. After all, they are cute with that rounded nose at the front (in technical jargon, it's called Radome).

Our 42nd Airbus A320 landed at 10.00am last week. We had a simple blessing ceremony conducted by an ustaz to officiate the arrival of our new baby. Anyway, here are the pictures of the plane, registered as 9M-AHP. Enjoy!
