Upon checking into our hotel near Ximending, we went to check out the infamous Shihlin Night Market to fill up our tummies with the Fried Oysters, Big Fried Chicken Cutlet, Taiwanese sausages, Smelly Toufu, Ice Mango Shavings and etc. Lovely stuffs. Pics here:

The next few days were spent exploring the tourist attractions in Taipei and surroundings.
We saw the changing of the guards at Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, prayed at Lungshan Temple, Shopped at Taipei Main Underground Mall, Enjoyed the foot-high ice cream and sunset at Danshui, Scalding ourselves in the Hotspring at Xinbeitou, Took day trip to visit Queen’s Head Rock Formation at Yehliu, Snacked and shopped at Jiufen Village, Touched a HUGE gold bar at Jinguashih Gold Museum, Visited the Wulai Waterfall, Ate out of replica toilet bowls and urinals at Modern Toilet Restaurant Ximending, Had the famous Ay Chung Rice Vermicelli also at Ximending.

We also experienced life on the fast lane in a High Speed Rail (HSR) train travelling at 300++ kph to Kaohsiung. Visited the Dragon and Tiger Pagodas, Dream Mall and Love River in Kaohsiung before speeding back to Taipei later in the evening.

Looking back, I got to thank AAX wholeheartedly for making it possible for me and family to go to Taiwan on a budget DIY trip. We have a great time in Taiwan and AAX Rocks...yeah... Saving up for other AAX destinations in the future.
