That’s right – AirAsia are the Title Sponsors for the Brish Grand Prix!!!!

Announced today at Silverstone, UK where the race will be held later this year, our GCEO Tony Fernandes and Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta signed on the dotted line, and shook hands to officially start what will be a 3 year deal.

The Signing

The Handshake
in the celebrations were Richard Phillips from Silverstone, and Fahmi; the Malaysian Rider is racing in the full season under AirAsia colours. He is currently training in Italy but we were fortunate that he could take a day out of his busy training regime to join us for the event.

As you can see our gorgeous Flight Attendents were there to be a part of the ceremony, and Media from UK, Malaysia and Singapore, along with representatives from Dorna, AirAsia and other guests were part of the audience.

Both AirAsia and Dorna are excited about the new relationship and to have the race at Silverstone, home of British motor racing is a fantastic partnership all around.

The AirAsia British Grand Prix will take place on 20 June, and we hope this relationship will encourage more fans from ASEAN to be a part of MotoGP, particularly countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia where the sport has a huge following. Of course this affair with MotoGP all started last year when AirAsia were the title sponsors to the Wildcard entry for the Malaysian MotoGP at Sepang International Circuit which saw oth Elly and Fahmi succeed expectations as Wildcards.

MotoGP, and rights holders Dorna are another partnership to prove that AirAsia is up there with the best in the business!

Stay tuned and keep up to speed with MotoGP, and get ready for contests to go and see the race later in the year!!

I’m the tall English girl in the company and I help organize sport and recreational activities for the lovely AirAsia staff. The perfect job for me as sport is really where my passion lies; anything and everything, I’ll give it a go! Lacrosse is my main sport but over here in Malaysia its played about as much as quidditch…so I spend my time running, swimming, netballing and tennising and soon I will be trying my hand at rugby for the first time – why not?!

As well as sport I love traveling; and South East Asia is an amazing place to be to explore; Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia – the list is endless!

A friend of mine recently set me a task to visit all of AirAsia’s destinations – I think I’ve got quite a few more to go before that’s completed!

Other favorite things are extreme activities; bungee jumping, sky diving, glacier hiking…next thing on my list is Mount Kinabalu and the Macau bungee which is over 200m, and I will have ticked off another AirAsia destination – get in!
